New season, new pairs… Who’s going to win it all?

You were waiting for it : the new Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour is underway! This year, 16 different countries are going to host 24 tournaments, starting in Riyadh. The Finals of the season will be held in the mythical Palau Sant Jordi, in Barcelona.

Here is a quick look at the 2025 Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour calendar.

Here are some key moments for this season :

The USA will participate in the Premier Padel Tour for the first time, with Miami being added on the list of tournaments. This marks the beginning of the implementation of Padel in the United States, where this sport has yet to emerge.

Another major addition to the circuit : Buenos Aires will host a Premier Padel tournament (P1) this season, for the first time. Last season, the only city in which a Premier Padel tournament was held in Argentina was Plata del Mar. This is great news for all the Argentinian aficionados, and let’s not forget that the Argentinian Padel Selection and its players were crowned world champions in the Qatar 2024 FIP World Padel Championship!

This year, there are numerous notable new pairs that were formed before the new season. Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello are an extremely performing couple, dominating last year’s ranking at the n°1 seed (they also won the first P1 tournament of the 2025 season in Riyadh on February 17th). Ale Galán and Federico Chingotto have also decided to play an extra season together, representing last year’s major threat to the domination of Coello and Tapia.

Let’s have a look at some of the new male duo’s for this season :

Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk : very polyvalent and aggressive, this new pair will be very interesting to watch. They were convincing in the finals of P1 Tournament in Riyadh, where they lost to Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, the n°1 pair in the world and champions of last year’s season.

Javi Garrido and Martín Di Nenno : these two former teammates, reunited after 5 years, will start the season as the 5th pair in the global ranking. Much more ambitious than 5 years ago, their combination of speed and control will be entertaining to watch. They lost to Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk in the quarter-finals of the first Premier Padel tournament in Riyadh earlier this year, but this couple has the potential to be a serious threat to their opponents!

Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas : young and energetic, this duo’s aggressiveness will give their opponents a hard time on the court! They went to the semi-final of the first tournament, in Riyadh, where they lost to the future champions Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia,  which may augur well for the season to come!

Momo González and Jon Sanz : mixing experience and youth, this balanced duo will be thrilling to watch. They lost against Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger in the early stages of the first tournament, but this couple has yet to prove their potential in the tournaments to come!

Lucas Bergamini and Paquito Navarro : this experienced pair will also start the season with ambitions : the number 11th and 16th are going to represent an interesting threat on the court. Their first tournament resulted in a disappointing loss against Juan Tello and Tino Libaak, but they will keep building chemistry and will come back stronger for the next tournament!

Eduardo Alonso and Alex Arroyo : this pair reunites yet again this season, for the third time! More experienced than ever, they will be eager to start this new season as a duo. They lost early in their first tournament of the 2025 season in Riyadh against Alex Chozas and Alex Ruiz, but they will keep improving to compete at the highest level during the season to come!

Juan Tello and Tino Libaak : the 30 years old (Tello) pairs with the 19 years old Argentinian (Libaak). This balanced pair, mixing experience and youth, will be fun to watch this season. During the first tournament of the season, they went to the quarter-finals, where they lost to Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto. A good start for this new couple!

Leo Augsburger and Pablo Cardona : this duo is very young, and although they lack experience, their dynamic and energetic duo promises to be thrilling to watch! They went to the semi-finals of the first P1 tournament in Riyadh, after beating Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto, which marked the first trip to this stage of the competition for Pablo Cardona!

Alex Chozas and Alex Ruiz : After a quiet season, with one P2 tournament win and a missed trip to the Finals for the first time in many seasons, Alex Ruiz has decided to pair up with Alex Chozas. This pair went to the quarter-finals in Riyadh, where they lost to Coello and Tapia. They will be back and competitive for the rest of the season!

On the female side, some notable couples were also recently formed. Here is a look at some of the changements, ahead of the 2025 season

Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea : This new pair combines experience and explosiveness. Respectively ranked at 3rd and 5th place, this duo promises to be very interesting to follow throughout the season! They lost to Claudia Fernández and Bea González in the semi-finals of the first tournament in Riyadh, but they will surely have their revenge throughout the season to come!

Claudia Fernández and Bea González : Youth and ambition characterizes this new pair. Ranked at 3rd and 5th place respectively, this pair is a serious contender for the title this season. Their first tournament in Riyadh was almost perfect, qualifying for the Finals, but they were forced to forfeit, Bea González having some injury trouble. They will be back even stronger for the rest of the season, there is no doubt about that!

As you can see, this 2025 Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour is full of promises, and we are thrilled to witness its expansion in new countries, as well as new competitive and interesting couples battling hard to earn the title!

We can’t wait to see these champions compete in the Lotto Brussels Premier Padel, in April 2025
